SUMMARY:Grenzen Voorbij Beyond Borders | Erasmus Alumni Club at Fenix
DESCRIPTION:An Afternoon of Art\, Migration Stories and Meaningful Encounte
rs at Fenix. On Friday 11 September\, Erasmus alumni are invited to discov
er Fenix\, Rotterdam’s art museum about migration. Through art\, persona
l stories and conversation\, we will explore themes of migration\, identit
y and belonging while meeting alumni from different backgrounds and discip
lines. The afternoon is jointly organised by the Positive Impact Circle an
d the Art &amp\; Culture Circle\, two Erasmus Alumni Club communities that
bring alumni together around shared interests. Located in a restored hist
oric harbour warehouse in Katendrecht\, Fenix gives space to migration sto
ries from around the world\, presented through art\, photography and perso
nal experiences. Highlights include the Suitcase Labyrinth\, powerful docu
mentary photography and the iconic Tornado staircase overlooking Rotterdam
and the Maas. The afternoon begins with the opportunity to explore the mu
seum independently\, followed by an exclusive guided tour for Erasmus alum
ni. Afterwards\, we will continue at Plein\, Fenix’s covered city square
\, for a talk by Anne Kremers\, Director of Fenix and Erasmus alumna\, and
Berfu Ege Soge\, board member of the Positive Impact Circle\, followed b
y drinks. The programme will be held in English. Places are limited\, so e
arly registration is recommended. Programme 15:00 | Arrival and opportuni
ty to explore the museum independently 16:00 | Welcome by Erasmus Alumni
Club and start of the guided tour  17:00 | Speech by Anna Kremers and Be
rfu Ege Soge\, followed by drinks at Plein (part of Fenix)  19:00 | End o
f the programme  Speakers Anne Kremers is Director of Fenix and an alumna
of Erasmus University Rotterdam. From 2013 to 2017\, she led Museum Villa
Mondriaan in Winterswijk\, in the eastern Netherlands. She was appointed
at the age of 24\, making her the youngest museum director in the Netherla
nds at the time.  Between 2017 and 2020\, Kremers worked for the Chow Tai
Fook Art Foundation in Hong Kong\, where she developed innovative art and
design projects. She subsequently returned to the Netherlands to take up
her position at Fenix. Berfu Ege Soge\, board member of the Positive Impa
ct Circle\, will join us to talk about her upcoming book Impact by Design:
Creating Certainty and Impact in a World of Complexity. The word 'impact'
gets used so often\, and so differently by different people\, that it has
started to lose its weight. Ege Sobe's book sets out to fix that\, offer
ing a shared language and a practical toolkit through the Impact Compass\,
a framework built around four dimensions at once: environment\, economy\,
society\, and the individual\, so leaders\, founders and investors can tu
rn the idea of impact into something they can actually build. About the Ci
rcles Circles are communities within the Erasmus Alumni Club that bring al
umni together around shared interests. The Positive Impact Circle connects
alumni who want to inspire and learn from one another and contribute to p
ositive societal change. The Art &amp\; Culture Circle brings alumni toget
her through a shared interest in art\, ideas and culture. For this event\,

on migration\, identity and belonging. Who is this event for? This event
