The Young Erasmus Circle aims to help ambitious young alumni progress. By facilitating enjoyable social happenings and opportunities for personal development for young alumni, the circle offers both fun and self development.
Our young alumni members experienced an inspiring evening at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. They enjoyed a concert, met the musician Wim Ruitenbeek and members of the Friends Society of the RPhO, and networked with fellow alumni members.
All Erasmus Alumni Club members below 35 years of age are automatically enrolled in this circle. There are no costs to being part of the Young Erasmus Circle, [although to join some events, a small contribution will be asked to (partly) cover the costs of the event]. (The annual membership contribution of the Erasmus Alumni Club differs based on your age: if you are below 30 years of age, the yearly cost is 30 euros. If you are between 30 and 40, the cost is 50 euros. Between 40 and 75 years membership costs 100 euros, and above 75 years membership is 30 euros again.)
Members of the Young Erasmus Circle gain access to various events. Among these are workshops for personal development, and also social happenings like shared drinks. For some events, a small contribution will be asked, to (partially) cover the costs. The events are always merry and intriguing. Are you below 35 years of age? Léon Vervooren is a proactive innovation marketer who’s getting things rolling at Feijenoord. He studied Business and Business Economics and has a knack for guiding and helping other people. Léon has worked as a student assistant, as a teaching assistant, and has volunteered as part of an advisory board.

Erik studied Economics and Business Economics and received his Masters diploma in Health Economics in 2017. He worked for IG&H as Health Consultant and Analyst and occupied a number of board positions. Erik was quaestor for S.S.R.-Rotterdam, co-founder and treasurer of the ‘Rotterdam Studentenstad’ foundation and he has been the treasurer for chess club ‘De Stormpionnen’ in Leiden since its inception in 2009.

Roza Aliyeva is a wife, mother, cat-lover, world-traveller and people enthusiast who also happens to be a board executive associate at Oceanco. Roza did a MSc Maritime Economics and Logistics at the Erasmus and has over a decade of varied working experience under her belt. She has been a lecturer at Qafqaz University, a local consultant at the UNDP and a Global Compliance Coordinator at Vopak.

Yanfei is interested in the world of numbers and that of humans. His passion for the Sustainable Development Goals is balanced by his expertise in data analytics, mathematical modelling and machine learning. He is currently doing a PhD for Operations Research at KU Leuven and is a Commission Member for the Young Erasmus Circle.
